Edible flowers at Annie’s

Our sessions at Annie's Place for Derby Umbrella have been a little delayed, so rather than planting seeds, we've been looking at edible flowers that you can forage for right now, as well as planting out seeds that we sowed some weeks ago.

We had a large group of eight participants, which was excellent! We're all getting to know each other quite well by now, so there is a lot of banter and laughter. Everyone had a smell of the basket of foraged flowers, and it was good to share experiences of who had tried some of the plants before.

The raised planters were filled to bursting by the time we'd finished, with tomatoes, different sorts of french beans, runner beans, peas and herbs.

It was a hot afternoon, so we finished off by trying some elderflower cordial - everyone seemed to enjoy it!
