We had a visit from a group of students from Derby university, who were interested in alternative settings for education.
We used bowsaws to cut greenwood slices (or ‘cookies’), drilled them with hand drills, then strung them with cord that we had first plied.
After that, we cut some allotment rhubarb, made batter, and cooked rhubarb drop scones.
And finally- we looked at the beautiful book, Lost Words, and did some watercolour sketches, sitting out in the allotment.
The sun shone too!
