Just a short post today as the weather has changed- a reminder that even though it’s rained a bit, there’s been nowhere near enough water for street trees planted in the last few years.
If you have any newly planted trees near your house, now’s the time to pour your leftover washing up water over the ground at their base and down any black plastic watering tube you may see.
Trees are likely to need water all summer for at least the first three years after planting: Derby Parks Department have asked for help as due to COVID-19 they have less ability to water than usual- and it’s been drier weather than usual.
